Pingyuan Castle is located in the north of Tianzhen County, under the jurisdiction of xinpingbao town.
In the 25th year of Jiajing (1546) of the Ming Dynasty, it was built with earth and in the 6th year of Longqing (1572) it was built with bricks. The perimeter of the castle was 1400 meters and the height was 11.66 meters. It opened the West and South gates of the castle and was garrisoned here in the Ming Dynasty. Pingyuanbao Great Wall enters Tianzhen, Shanxi Province from Huai'an, Hebei Province, and is adjacent to Xinhe County, Inner Mongolia, across the Great Wall in the north. Now there are more than 300 families and more than 1000 people in the fort, and the main crops are corn, millet and millet.
